Islamabad: Federal Minister for the Board of Investment, Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, met a high-level delegation of China’s Shandong Hi-Speed Group on the sidelines of the Pakistan-China B2B Conference in Islamabad to discuss expanding investment and economic cooperation.

During the meeting, both sides held detailed discussions on promoting Chinese investment in Pakistan and exploring new avenues for bilateral collaboration.

The federal minister said Shandong Hi-Speed Group has shown strong interest in investing in Pakistan’s infrastructure, oil and gas sectors. He also noted progress on the group’s ongoing project with the Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) in Hyderabad.

Highlighting Pakistan’s investment potential, Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh said the country offers a young workforce, modern seaports, an extensive road network, and strategic connectivity to Central Asia, making it an attractive destination for foreign investors.

The Chinese delegation extended an invitation to the federal minister to visit China, while both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral economic cooperation and promoting mutually beneficial investment initiatives.
