QUETTA: Iran Air flight IRA 0827 from Zahedan, Iran, landed at Quetta International Airport on Wednesday and later departed for Zahedan carrying 80 passengers, marking the resumption of bilateral air services between Quetta and Iran.

Officials and representatives of the Quetta Chamber of Commerce and Industry, including Jangiyan Baloch, Sardar Ayub Mariani and Juma Khan Badizai, along with Quetta Airport General Manager Khalid Kakar and others, welcomed officials from the Zahedan Chamber of Commerce who arrived on the Iran Air flight.

The Quetta-Mashhad and Quetta-Zahedan Iran Air services were initially inaugurated in December 2025 by Balochistan Governor Jafar Khan Mandokhail.

The bilateral flights between Quetta and the Iranian cities of Mashhad and Zahedan had remained suspended for some time due to prevailing international circumstances. The services were restored on Wednesday, providing renewed air connectivity between Balochistan and Iran.

The resumption of the flights has been welcomed by the business community and residents of Balochistan, who described the restoration of direct air links with Zahedan and Mashhad as a positive development for trade, business and people-to-people contacts.

The renewed air connectivity is expected to facilitate travel between Pakistan and Iran and strengthen commercial and economic ties between Balochistan and neighboring Iranian regions.
