ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Canada have agreed to institutionalize annual meetings at the foreign ministers’ level to review progress on bilateral cooperation, as Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held talks with his Canadian counterpart, Anita Anand, in Islamabad on Sunday.
During the meeting, both leaders reviewed recent developments in Pakistan–Canada relations and exchanged views on key regional and international issues of mutual interest.
The two sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the mutually beneficial partnership and agreed to expand cooperation in priority sectors. They also decided to hold annual meetings to monitor implementation of the understandings reached under the agreed Joint Statement.
The meeting reflects the shared resolve of Pakistan and Canada to enhance diplomatic engagement and broaden cooperation across multiple areas of mutual interest.
