ALIPUR: The distribution of financial assistance under the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has officially started in Tehsil Alipur. Around 68,000 eligible women are expected to receive financial support through the government’s social welfare initiative.

According to Assistant Director BISP Alipur Rana Amjad, the Government of Pakistan has introduced a digital wallet system to improve the transparency, security, and efficiency of the payment process. The new system allows beneficiaries to receive their financial assistance directly into their personal digital wallets instead of collecting cash through traditional methods.

He explained that the digital payment mechanism has been designed to eliminate unauthorized deductions by retailers. As a result, beneficiaries can now receive the full amount of their financial assistance without unnecessary cuts.

Rana Amjad said that nearly 60,000 women in Tehsil Alipur have already obtained new SIM cards and successfully activated their digital wallets. Meanwhile, the registration and activation process for the remaining beneficiaries is continuing to ensure that every eligible woman is included.

He further stated that the introduction of digital wallets is making the payment process faster, safer, and more transparent. It also provides women with greater financial independence by allowing them to access their funds directly.

The BISP official urged all beneficiaries to collect their payments only through the official digital payment procedure. He also advised them to immediately report any complaints, delays, or illegal deductions to the nearest BISP office so that timely action can be taken.

The government believes that the digital wallet system will strengthen transparency, reduce fraud, and ensure that financial assistance reaches deserving families without interference.
