The Pakistan Navy successfully rescued 19 stranded fishermen during a search and rescue operation in the North Arabian Sea after their fishing boat became disabled because of an engine failure.
According to an official statement, Pakistan Navy warship PNS Taimur responded immediately after receiving a distress call. The rescue mission was launched following a request for assistance from the Joint Maritime Information Coordination Centre (JMICC).
The fishing vessel had become stranded about 120 nautical miles south of Gwadar after its engine stopped working. As a result, all 19 crew members were left stranded at sea.
The rescued crew included 11 Pakistani nationals and 8 Iranian nationals. Fortunately, every crew member was brought to safety without any injuries.
During the operation, Pakistan Navy personnel provided the fishermen with food, clean drinking water, and medical assistance. After ensuring the crew’s safety, the Navy towed the disabled fishing boat back to shore.
The Pakistan Navy said the successful rescue highlights its continued commitment to protecting lives at sea. It also demonstrates the Navy’s readiness to respond quickly to maritime emergencies within Pakistan’s area of responsibility.
The operation reflects the Pakistan Navy’s ongoing efforts to ensure maritime safety, support fishermen in distress, and strengthen emergency response capabilities in the North Arabian Sea.
