Islamabad: A joint operation by the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan, and Police, codenamed Operation Shaaban, is continuing against militants in Balochistan, according to security sources.

The sources said security forces are carrying out sustained air and ground operations against militants referred to by the state as Fitna al-Khawarij, targeting their hideouts across the operation area.

Security officials claim the ongoing offensive has inflicted heavy losses on the militants. During the latest phase of the operation, four more militants were confirmed killed, bringing the total number of militants killed in Operation Shaaban to 83, according to the sources.

The officials further stated that 121 militants have been killed since July 5 in Operation Shaaban and other intelligence-based operations conducted across the province.
