ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage and spirit of unity were celebrated through a vibrant Cultural Evening organised alongside the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund’s (PPAF) International Conference on Inclusive and Resilient Economic Empowerment and Growth, bringing the first day of the two-day event to a colourful close.

Held on Tuesday, the evening brought together government officials, international delegates and conference participants for a celebration of Pakistan’s diverse musical traditions, creativity and shared cultural identity.

The event was attended by Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety Syed Imran Ahmad Shah, Federal Minister Aurangzeb Khan Khichi, PPAF Chief Executive Officer Nadir Gul Barech, and foreign delegates.

The gathering transformed a day of discussions on poverty reduction, inclusive growth and economic empowerment into an engaging cultural celebration, using music as a bridge between communities and countries.

A musical ensemble captivated the audience with stirring renditions of Pakistan’s national anthem and folk melodies representing different regions of the country. The performances reflected the diversity of Pakistan’s musical heritage and filled the venue with patriotic spirit and cultural warmth.

Young singer M. Taha Ali emerged as one of the evening’s highlights, delivering an energetic performance that captivated attendees. His powerful vocals and engaging stage presence added excitement to the celebration, while the audience enjoyed the melodies and rhythms showcasing Pakistan’s cultural richness.

The performances created an atmosphere of joy and togetherness, offering international delegates an opportunity to experience Pakistan’s cultural traditions beyond the formal conference setting.

Beyond entertainment, the Cultural Evening reflected the central theme of the conference, “Poverty to Prosperity,” highlighting the role of cultural diversity, creativity and a shared sense of identity in bringing people together across geographical and cultural boundaries.

For foreign participants, the event provided an opportunity to explore Pakistan’s vibrant cultural landscape while encouraging informal interaction and fellowship among delegates from different backgrounds.

As folk melodies from across the country resonated through the gathering, the evening reinforced the message that sustainable prosperity extends beyond economic development. Inclusion, mutual respect, cultural understanding and a shared vision for the future are also essential to building resilient communities.

The Cultural Evening concluded the conference’s opening day on a celebratory note, blending discussions on social and economic progress with the unifying power of music and Pakistan’s rich cultural traditions.
