RS Berkane are on the verge of completing one of the most surprising transfer moves of the window.
Cape Verde international goalkeeper Vozinha is now close to joining the Moroccan club after a dramatic change in plans. The 40-year-old was expected to sign for Chilean giants Colo Colo, but the deal has taken an unexpected turn.
Colo Colo had already announced Vozinha as their new goalkeeper. However, the veteran never arrived in Santiago to complete the transfer.
His flight was first scheduled for Tuesday. It was then delayed until Wednesday and later pushed back again to Thursday. Despite the changes, Vozinha did not travel to Chile.
The delays opened the door for RS Berkane to make their move.
According to Cape Verde football journalist Raphael Bózeo, talks between RS Berkane and Vozinha are now in the final stages. Only the last details remain before the transfer is completed.
If the deal goes through, RS Berkane will add one of Cape Verde’s most experienced players. Vozinha has enjoyed a long career and remains a respected leader for both club and country.
The unexpected transfer twist has surprised many fans. A move to South America looked certain just days ago, but Morocco now appears to be the goalkeeper’s next destination.
An official announcement is expected soon if both sides finalize the remaining details
