ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s remittances continued their strong upward trajectory in August 2026, reaching $3.656 billion, marking a 16.5 percent increase year-on-year and a 0.7 percent rise compared with July.

According to the latest figures, total remittances during the first two months of FY2026-27 stood at $7.29 billion, registering a 14.7 percent year-on-year increase. The latest performance builds on the record $41.6 billion in remittances received during FY2025-26.

Saudi Arabia remained the largest source of remittances in August, contributing $873 million, followed by the United Arab Emirates with $750 million.

The United Kingdom contributed $564 million, while remittances from the United States amounted to $309 million during the month.

The sustained growth in workers’ remittances is expected to provide continued support to Pakistan’s external sector, strengthen foreign exchange liquidity and contribute to greater economic resilience.

The steady inflow of remittances also highlights the important role played by overseas Pakistanis in supporting the country’s economy and strengthening external buffers.
