ISLAMABAD: Pakistan celebrated a major success on the international sporting stage as young Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighters Muhammad Jawad Ahmed and Muhammad Saqib captured gold medals at the GAMMA Asian MMA Championship, earning the title of Asian Champions.
The prestigious championship brought together more than 200 athletes from 16 countries, with Pakistan’s rising stars delivering outstanding performances in their respective finals.
In the Under-16, 54kg category, Muhammad Jawad Ahmed defeated Kazakhstan’s Zharylkassinov Meirman in a thrilling contest to claim the gold medal and the Asian title.

In the Under-18, 56kg final, Muhammad Saqib showcased exceptional technique, determination, and fighting spirit to overcome Thailand’s Changpan Watcharat, securing Pakistan’s second gold medal of the championship.

Saqib, who also won the 2024 GAMMA World MMA Championship gold medal, further strengthened his reputation as one of Asia’s most promising young MMA athletes with another impressive international triumph.
The double gold-medal success marks a significant achievement for Pakistan’s growing MMA community and highlights the country’s emerging talent on the Asian stage.
