ISLAMABAD: Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni, currently on an official visit to Pakistan, visited the Pakistan Monument in Islamabad on Monday, where he paid tribute to the country’s martyrs.
Accompanied by Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, the Iranian minister was presented a guard of honour by a smartly turned-out contingent of the Federal Constabulary upon his arrival.
During the visit, Momeni laid a floral wreath at the Martyrs’ Memorial, offered prayers, and paid homage to the sacrifices of Pakistan’s fallen heroes.
The Iranian interior minister also toured the Pakistan Monument and received a briefing on its history and national significance. He appreciated the historical importance of both the monument and the Martyrs’ Memorial.
Later, Momeni viewed Islamabad city and the Margalla Hills from the Shakarparian viewpoint.
Inspector General Federal Constabulary Riaz Nazir Gara, the Deputy Inspector General of Islamabad Police, and other senior officials were also present on the occasion.
