Pakistan Shines in Almaty, Kazakhstan, Winning 2 Gold, 2 Silver Medals and the “Best Under-16 Team of Asia” Title

Almaty, Kazakhstan: Pakistan delivered an outstanding performance on the opening day of the Asian Ju-Jitsu Championship 2026, establishing its dominance in the Under-16 category. The national team secured 2 Gold Medals, 2 Silver Medals, and the prestigious “Best Under-16 Team of Asia” title, proudly raising Pakistan’s flag on the Asian Ju-Jitsu stage.

In the Under-16 Duo Show System event, Pakistan’s talented athletes Zunaira Zulfiqar and Sundas Ali displayed exceptional technical skills, coordination, and determination to capture the Gold Medal and become the new Asian Champions. In recognition of their victory, Pakistan’s national flag was raised and the national anthem was played during the medal ceremony in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

In the same event, Pakistan’s Abdul Rehman and Amina Irfan delivered an impressive performance to win the Silver Medal, while the host nation, Kazakhstan, claimed the Bronze Medal.

As a result of these remarkable performances, Pakistan was also honoured with the “Best Under-16 Team of Asia” award, marking a historic milestone in the country’s Ju-Jitsu history.

The Asian Ju-Jitsu Championship 2026 has brought together athletes from 25 Asian countries, with approximately 728 entries competing across various categories. Pakistan made a powerful statement from the very first day of the championship.

The Chairman of the Pakistan Ju-Jitsu Federation congratulated the national team and stated:

“This achievement is the result of the continuous development of Ju-Jitsu in Pakistan, the hard work and dedication of our athletes, the professional preparation of our coaching staff, and the federation’s effective planning. Winning the titles of Under-16 Asian Champions and Best Under-16 Team of Asia is a matter of immense pride for the entire nation.”

Secretary General of the Pakistan Ju-Jitsu Federation and team leader, Tariq Ali, said:

“This remarkable start at the Asian Championship reflects the bright future of Pakistan Ju-Jitsu. Securing 2 Gold Medals, 2 Silver Medals, and the Best Under-16 Team of Asia title on the opening day is a testament to the talent, discipline, and world-class preparation of our young athletes. We are confident that the national team will continue its winning momentum and bring further glory to Pakistan in the upcoming competitions.”
