ISLAMABAD: The stage at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) came alive with the passion and creativity of young performers as Muqadimah, a classical theatre production created and performed by university students serving as PNCA interns, concluded successfully to an enthusiastic audience response.

The production offered emerging artists an opportunity to transform their ideas into a complete theatrical performance while experiencing the demands and discipline of professional theatre.

Presented under the overall supervision of Inayat Ur Rahman, Deputy Director Performing Arts, PNCA, the production was part of an initiative aimed at encouraging young talent by providing university students with a professional platform to experiment, create and perform.

From rehearsals to the final curtain, the young team embraced the challenge with dedication and confidence, demonstrating their ability to work collectively while bringing their creative vision to the stage.

Young Talent Takes Centre Stage

The evening was graced by Muhammad Ayoub Jamali, Director General PNCA, whose presence and encouragement provided further motivation to the young artists.

Special appreciation was extended to Maira Aiman, Producer; Taimoor Hamza, Director; Misum Ali Khan, Writer; and Sudais Safi, Cast Member, for their contributions to the production.

PNCA also acknowledged the wider cast, production team, technical crew and behind-the-scenes staff whose teamwork and creativity helped bring Muqadimah to life.

A Stage for the Next Generation

The successful production highlights PNCA’s efforts to create opportunities for emerging artists and provide them with practical experience in the performing arts.

By giving young theatre practitioners access to a professional stage, the initiative allows them to learn through experience while developing their creative confidence and theatrical skills.

The response to Muqadimah reflects the potential of Pakistan’s young artists and the importance of creating spaces where new voices can experiment, perform and connect with audiences.
