Narowal has experienced its highest rainfall in the past 15 years, with 220 millimetres of rain recorded in Narowal city, leaving streets, markets, and drainage systems submerged.
Continuous rainfall since last night has caused rainwater to enter homes and shops, damaging valuable household items and commercial goods. Overflowing sewage has also entered residential and commercial areas, creating serious difficulties for residents.
According to official figures, 180 millimetres of rainfall was recorded in Narowal Tehsil, 90 millimetres in Shakargarh, 115 millimetres in Zafarwal, and 220 millimetres in Narowal City, where several roads have been inundated.
WASA teams are engaged in draining water from affected areas, while the district administration has issued a flood warning over the expected rise in water levels in the Ravi River, Basantar Nullah, and Dek Nullah.
Residents living in vulnerable areas have been advised to move to safer locations as a precautionary measure.
