RAWALPINDI, September 9, 2026: Security forces have neutralised 11 terrorists during intelligence-based operations in Kharan and Washuk districts of Balochistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Wednesday.
According to ISPR, the operations were conducted on September 6 and 7 following reports about the presence of terrorists belonging to what it described as the Indian proxy group Fitna al Hindustan.
On September 6, terrorists attempted to establish a roadblock in Kharan with the aim of disrupting local traffic. Security forces promptly responded and engaged the militants, killing eight terrorists, according to the military’s media wing.
In a separate intelligence-based operation in Washuk district on September 7, security forces targeted a reported terrorist hideout. Following an intense exchange of fire, three terrorists were killed, ISPR said.
The security forces also recovered approximately 2.9 tonnes of explosives from the hideout, which, according to ISPR, were intended for the preparation of improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
Sanitisation operations are currently underway in the area to eliminate any remaining terrorists, ISPR added.
The military’s media wing said the counter-terrorism campaign under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam,” approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, would continue at full pace to counter foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism in the country.
