GILGIT: The European Union, in collaboration with the British Council, has organised a dialogue in Gilgit to strengthen industry linkages and explore employment opportunities for graduates in Gilgit-Baltistan.
The dialogue was held under Team Europe’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) support programme, bringing together representatives from government institutions, academia, the IT industry and development partners.
Participants discussed the growing importance of digital skills, the evolving needs of the industrial sector and how stronger coordination between education and industry could improve employment prospects for young graduates in the region.
The discussions also focused on aligning technical and vocational training programmes with market demands to ensure that graduates acquire skills relevant to available employment opportunities.

The initiative aimed to strengthen cooperation between technical and vocational education and training institutions and employers, creating better pathways from education to employment.
Particular emphasis was placed on expanding employment opportunities for young people, especially women, in Gilgit-Baltistan through improved digital skills, industry engagement and stronger institutional partnerships.
