Quetta, September 25, 2026: The Collectorate of Customs Enforcement, Quetta, has foiled a major attempt to smuggle gold through the border areas of Balochistan, seizing 6.162 kilograms of gold biscuits with an initial estimated value of approximately Rs. 250 million.

The operation was carried out on September 21, 2026, by personnel of the Field Enforcement Unit (FEU), Shelabagh, with the active cooperation and assistance of the Frontier Corps (FC). Acting on intelligence information and during effective surveillance of the area, Customs Enforcement personnel successfully intercepted the smuggling attempt and recovered the gold biscuits.

The operation was part of an ongoing intelligence-based and effective anti-smuggling campaign being conducted along key highways, Field Enforcement Units, entry and exit points, and sensitive smuggling routes across Balochistan.

Effective surveillance by FEU Shelabagh, along with close coordination between Pakistan Customs and the Frontier Corps, enabled the timely detection and seizure of the smuggled gold.

The seized gold has been deposited at the State Warehouse, Quetta, in accordance with the prescribed legal procedure. An FIR has also been registered, and further legal proceedings are underway.

The Collectorate of Customs Enforcement, Quetta, reaffirmed its commitment to preventing cross-border smuggling, protecting legitimate trade, and safeguarding government revenue. Pakistan Customs will continue intelligence-based operations in coordination with relevant law-enforcement agencies and security institutions, while strict legal action will be taken against those involved in smuggling in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations.
