Quetta: The Government of Balochistan and the protest committee have successfully concluded negotiations, resulting in a written agreement following reconciliation efforts led by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti.
Speaking to the jirga, Provincial Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar, who headed the government’s negotiating committee, said the successful dialogue had paved the way for peace, reconciliation, and renewed mutual trust.
He said the written agreement with the families of the Ziarat martyrs was made possible through the prudent leadership and conciliatory approach of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti. According to Kakar, the agreement represents a significant step toward strengthening public confidence, upholding the rule of law, and fulfilling commitments made to the martyrs’ families.
The minister said the provincial government would ensure implementation of all legitimate demands of the martyrs’ families in accordance with the prevailing policy and assured that no affected family would be left unsupported.
He added that the establishment of a judicial commission, consultations on the law and order situation, and measures to enhance the capacity of the police are part of the government’s concrete efforts to address the concerns raised.
Bakht Muhammad Kakar said the sacrifices of the martyrs are a national asset and that the dignity, welfare, and support of their families remain a top priority for the Government of Balochistan.
He also paid tribute to the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps (FC), Police, Levies, and other law enforcement agencies, saying their sacrifices continue to underpin the ongoing efforts to maintain peace in the province.
