Flood Relief Efforts Intensify in Sheikhupura as Water Levels Recede in Nullah Dek

SHEIKHUPURA: Relief and rescue operations are continuing at full pace in the flood-affected areas of Ferozewala and Muridke tehsils of Sheikhupura, where authorities are providing comprehensive assistance to residents impacted by flooding caused by Nullah Dek and Nullah Bhed.

According to the district administration, flood relief camps have been established in Muridke and Kala Shah Kaku, while rescue camps are providing temporary shelter, cooked meals, clean drinking water, medical assistance, and essential supplies to displaced families. Special arrangements have also been made to provide fodder and clean water for livestock.

To ensure uninterrupted healthcare services, Clinics on Wheels and field hospitals are operating around the clock in the affected areas, offering medical treatment to flood victims.

Commissioner Lahore Division Nauman Yousaf and Deputy Commissioner Sheikhupura Rana Adil Tasawur, along with rescue and relief agencies, are personally supervising the ongoing operations to ensure timely assistance reaches all affected communities.

In villages including Noorpur, Pathan Colony, and surrounding settlements, rescue boats are delivering food and facilitating the movement of residents stranded by floodwaters.

Meanwhile, the district administration said that water levels in Nullah Dek have started to recede, raising hopes of a gradual improvement in the overall flood situation. Authorities have assured residents that relief, rescue, and rehabilitation efforts will continue until normalcy is fully restored.
