Islamabad:A U.S. Congressional Delegation (CODEL), comprising Representatives Ryan Zinke and Michael Baumgartner, called on Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar in Islamabad to discuss ways to further strengthen Pakistan-U.S. relations.
Welcoming the delegation, Senator Ishaq Dar highlighted the positive momentum in bilateral ties and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to expanding cooperation with the United States in key sectors, including trade, investment, information technology, energy, and other areas of mutual interest.
Both sides emphasized the importance of sustained parliamentary exchanges as a means of building mutual trust and reinforcing the longstanding partnership between the two countries.
The congressional delegation acknowledged the significant contributions of the Pakistani diaspora to the U.S. economy and society, describing the community as a vital bridge that continues to strengthen people-to-people ties between Pakistan and the United States.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on regional and international developments. The U.S. lawmakers appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting regional peace and stability, while both sides reiterated their commitment to enhancing bilateral engagement across multiple sectors.
