Nottingham, November 7, 2026: Nottingham Forest produced a stunning performance to defeat Manchester City 3-1 in the Premier League, with Liam Delap stealing the spotlight by scoring twice and celebrating in a style reminiscent of Cristiano Ronaldo’s iconic ‘Siuuu’.
Forest made a dream start at the City Ground, taking the lead in the sixth minute through Jair Cunha, who capitalised on a defensive error before firing past Manchester City goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.
The hosts doubled their advantage in the 18th minute when Liam Delap took full advantage of space in City’s defence. The forward drove towards goal and unleashed a powerful finish to make it 2-0, sending the home supporters into celebration.
Manchester City attempted to fight their way back into the contest after the interval. Rayan Cherki gave the visitors renewed hope in the 52nd minute with a brilliant half-volley that reduced the deficit to 2-1.
However, Forest refused to surrender their advantage. Delap struck again in the 73rd minute, finishing a rapid counterattack with an excellent effort to seal a memorable 3-1 victory.
Delap’s goal-scoring display and Cristiano Ronaldo-inspired celebration became one of the major talking points of the night, as Forest supporters celebrated a remarkable result against one of English football’s biggest clubs.
The defeat marked Manchester City’s third consecutive Premier League loss, raising fresh questions about their title ambitions. City remain six points behind league leaders Arsenal, while Nottingham Forest climbed to 16th place, moving out of the relegation zone.
For Forest, the victory was particularly significant as it marked their first home win and first home goals of the Premier League season.
Delap’s brace will undoubtedly be remembered as a defining moment in Forest’s impressive evening, while Manchester City will have plenty to reconsider during the upcoming international break.
