AMSTELVEEN, Netherlands: India defeated Pakistan 5–3 in a thrilling Pool D clash at the FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup on August 19, 2026. The high-intensity encounter was played at the Wagener Hockey Stadium in Amstelveen.
India made a strong start and quickly took control of the match. Captain Harmanpreet Singh scored twice, while Abhishek also found the net twice. Hardik Singh added another goal to complete India’s five-goal tally.
Pakistan fought back strongly, with Hannan Shahid scoring twice and Sufiyan Khan adding another goal. Despite Pakistan’s efforts to close the gap, India maintained its composure and secured a 5–3 victory.
