GHIZER:
Heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms has triggered flash floods in several areas of Ghizer, causing widespread damage to infrastructure and disrupting transportation.
According to local authorities, a flash flood swept away an RCC bridge in the Yengel and Chartoi areas, forcing the closure of the Gilgit–Chitral Road for all types of traffic.
In the district headquarters, Gahkuch, floodwaters passed through several neighborhoods, damaging crops, link roads, and local infrastructure.
Residents have begun repair work on their own, making efforts to restore access roads leading to their communities while authorities continue to assess the damage and monitor the situation.
