NORTH WAZIRISTAN: Security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation against militants in North Waziristan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, killing eight suspected militants, according to security sources.

The operation was carried out as part of ongoing efforts to target militants associated with Fitna al-Khawarij, the sources said.
According to security sources, the operation successfully targeted militant hideouts, which were subsequently destroyed. A large quantity of weapons, ammunition and other military equipment was also recovered from the militants.
The sources further alleged that the militants attempted to use a mosque as cover to evade security forces during the operation.
Security forces, while taking the sanctity of the mosque into consideration, conducted the operation with what the sources described as extreme precision to avoid damage to the place of worship while engaging the militants.
The operation is part of continued counterterrorism efforts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, particularly in areas bordering Afghanistan where militant activity has remained a security concern.
