SAIDU SHARIF: Officers undergoing the 54th Common Training Programme (CTP) at the Civil Services Academy Lahore visited the Commissioner’s Office of Malakand Division as part of a study tour to gain insight into the region’s administrative affairs and development priorities.

During the visit, Commissioner Malakand Division Iqbal Hussain Bacha briefed the officers on law and order, governance, public service delivery, development priorities and economic opportunities across the division.

The commissioner highlighted the geographical, social and economic importance of Malakand Division, particularly its potential in tourism, agriculture and hydropower projects. He also discussed evidence-based governance initiatives and the administration’s efforts to improve public services through data-driven planning.

He said improving healthcare facilities, encouraging community participation and taking action against illegal encroachments were among the administration’s key priorities.

Deputy commissioners, additional deputy commissioners (Finance and Planning), assistant commissioners from across the division, and the Chief Executive Officer of Water and Sanitation Services Company Swat were also present during the briefing.

A question-and-answer session followed, during which the trainee officers raised questions about various administrative matters. Commissioner Bacha encouraged them to understand ground realities, make effective use of modern technology and keep public service as their top priority.

The visit concluded with an exchange of commemorative shields between the commissioner and the visiting officers.
