DARGAI: A one-day awareness session on mental health was organized at Ranezai Institute of Medical Sciences, Dargai, to promote mental health awareness and encourage young people to adopt healthy approaches towards emotional and psychological well-being.

The session was organized by the District Youth Office Malakand in collaboration with the District Administration Malakand, under the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Malakand Mr. Arif Khan Yousafzai and Director, Directorate of Youth Affairs Peshawar, Dr. Nouman Mujahid.

During the session, guest speaker Mr. Shahzaib Khan delivered an informative presentation highlighting the importance of mental health, common psychological challenges, stress management, emotional well-being, and the need to eliminate the stigma associated with mental health issues.

He encouraged participants to prioritize their mental well-being, seek professional assistance whenever necessary, and contribute towards creating a supportive and understanding environment within society.

Mr. Ibrahim Khan, along with Mr. Basir Ullah and Mr. Iqtidar Ali Khan, also attended the session and addressed the participants. They emphasized the importance of mental health awareness, particularly among young people, and encouraged students to openly discuss psychological challenges, support one another, and adopt positive habits for a healthy and balanced life.

An interactive question-and-answer session was also arranged, allowing participants to raise questions, share their concerns, and gain further understanding of different aspects of mental health.

At the conclusion of the programme, certificates were distributed among participants, while shields were presented to the guest speaker, distinguished guests, and other prominent attendees in recognition of their participation and contributions.

The initiative reflects the commitment of the District Youth Office Malakand and the District Administration towards promoting youth awareness, mental well-being, and a healthier and more supportive community.
