ISLAMABAD:Pakistan’s security forces have carried out intelligence-based ground operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), followed by precision air strikes against what officials described as terrorist hideouts and training facilities.

According to the statement issued on September 20, 2026, security forces conducted operations against a group of terrorists in the Kohat and Hangu districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The statement said nine militants described by Pakistani authorities as members of Fitna al-Khawarij were killed, while several others were injured during the ground operation.

Following intelligence gathered about terrorist networks, selective air strikes were also conducted against alleged terrorist camps and hideouts in the border region with Afghanistan.

According to Pakistani security authorities, *three targets were destroyed, including a training centre used for suicide bombers. The statement claimed that *28 terrorists, including multiple suicide bombers, were killed in the strikes.

Security forces also reported the destruction of large quantities of weapons and ammunition allegedly stored at the targeted locations.

The statement said Pakistan has consistently sought peace and stability in the region but considers the protection of its citizens a foremost priority. Pakistani authorities further alleged that terrorist threats against the country emanate from militant networks operating from Afghanistan.

Officials said precautions were taken during the operations to avoid civilian casualties and collateral damage.

The statement added that Pakistan’s counter-terrorism campaign, *Ghazab lil Haq, being conducted under the broader *Azm-e-Istehkam framework, will continue against what authorities describe as foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism.

The claims regarding casualties, targets and the locations of militant facilities were made by Pakistani security authorities.
